St Andrew’s College is a leading independent, co-educational day and boarding school set in a large, picturesque campus in the heart of Christchurch.  With a roll of 1600, it is the South Island’s only independent school offering places from Pre-school to Year 13.

Founded in 1917 in the Presbyterian faith, with a rich history to draw on, today the College has developed a brand of education which adapts quickly to the demands of the present while holding true to the values of the College’s founders.  This gives the students a combination of freedom and boundaries which results in young people with roots and wings to flourish in an ever-changing world.

St Andrew’s embraces an extensive co-curricular programme, with over 95% of students participating in sports and cultural offerings. With three boarding houses on site, and an outdoor education facility in Castle Hill, St Andrew’s provides a breadth of opportunities to enable each student, whatever their talents and interests, to excel.

The next Rector will build on St Andrew’s high quality educational programme and learning environment.  They will lead staff and students, inspiring and encouraging their learning and growth while celebrating their diversity in a supportive and caring environment.  The Rector will provide strategic and operational leadership, accompanied by an empathetic and inclusive leadership style.  A commitment to the longevity of the College through progressive education and astute commercial acumen will ensure the College continues to thrive.
